42HL167
Toshiba's 42" 42HL167 is the perfect flat-panel HDTV for videophiles with champagne taste and a beer budget. It's 1920 x 1080-pixel picture resolution is nearly double that of any 42" plasma. Other advanced display technologies help guarantee a beautifully balanced picture at all times and with all sources. Most high-definition programs are in 1080i, and the only way to see all of the details in a 1080i signal is with a 1080p display like this one. It's that simple. The 42HL167's built-in tuners pull in all types of local over-the-air broadcasts, from ordinary analog to digital high-definition (antenna required). And a "QAM" cable tuner enables you to watch unscrambled digital cable channels, including HD. Toshiba employs a "wide color gamut" backlight to provide a 25% wider color range than their previous LCDs. By combining that with advanced video processing, the 42HL167 creates colors that are vibrant yet natural. Also, Toshiba's DynaLight dynamic backlighting system monitors the brightness level of the video signal and adjusts backlight intensity to maximize picture contrast.
